In an age where people must share every detail of their lives online, a video emerged of an airline pilot landing a Boeing 737 in 'high winds'. The video seen here, was headlined as 'Eye-opening video taken by a pilot shows the difficulty involved in landing a Boeing 737 airline in high winds'.

Rather than headline this story as 'Breaking news: pilot does his job', the story goes on to say the pilot 'uses both hands which appear to be going wild to maintain control of the plane'.

Two aspects of the video are odd. First, the rapid left and right control inputs are too abrupt for an aircraft this large. A 737 has lots of mass and intertia. Second, is who in their right mind would put a Go-Pro camera at the feet near the rudder pedals, risking jamming the controls?

Immediately, the video was considered 'fake news'.

Threatcore News contacted a Boeing 737 pilot to get an analysis. His analysis:

'My feeling is that he was definitely over controlling this aircraft in this landing. That said, it looks to me that this guy was in a simulator and working the yoke as hard as he could for the effect of making it look like a difficult landing. Plus, no one would put a go-pro in a place where it might block the rudder controls. Plus, he wasn't moving the thrust levers in a way that would be appropriate for the gyrations he was doing with the yoke. Plus, his legs/feet were not moving the rudder peddles in a coordinated pattern that would be required with these yoke inputs. FAKE.'

As one of the comments in the report reads: 'Pilot Induced Turbulence for your entertainment'.
